This is a Tribute cache honoring tbruihler for finding his 5000th geocache! The cache is an ammo can located in the beautiful Volga River State Recreation area, where Tim has hidden a number of fine caches.
Tim can often be seen caching with his children. They have grown to love geocaching, too, and are even getting their own accounts. His dad is also a geocacher. Together they have taken many trips finding caches all over the country. Tim is particularly fond of finding caches in different counties. In fact, he has found caches in one third of the counties in the US. In 2017, he found caches in 24 counties in one day! In 2009, he found caches in 6 states in one day!
Another one of Tim’s accomplishments is that he has hiked the Grand Canyon from rim to rim in one day. That's a 24-mile hot, strenuous hike. And he has done this hike more than once!
Tim has been an asset to the geocaching community. He has placed Traditional caches, Multi-caches, Mystery caches including some cool field puzzles, Lab caches, and held Events including a CITO. Thanks, Tim, for all you do for your fellow geocachers!
The Volga River State Recreation Area has a beautiful lake for fishing and boating, picnic areas, camping with modern facilities, equestrian camping, as well as trails for all to enjoy.
