Desert Dawg recently let it slip that the 24th of August was going to be his 20th Geocaching Birthday. Of course being a Dawg, that translates to 140 years, although he certainly doesn't look a day over 80.
What do you get someone that old for their birthday when they already have anything and everything they could ever want? A new geocache to go find of course. I was going to have my kids get a cache together, but GrandmaMumford already had one ready to go that she has been hanging onto for a while now. Since she has some artistic talent, she created a B-day card as well. (I guess I should have specified what kind of Dawg to draw, but she did a great job on it anyways.)
I figured I would hike up this trail as far as I could get in a half hour and look for a good spot to hide the cache. I found a spot that looked better than where I placed it, but wearing shorts, I decided to just place it shortly off the trail instead. I didn't want the Dawg to have to bring a carton of band-aids with him to get to the cache either. This is a nice shady trail without a lot of elevation gain and you'll usually see some form of wildlife along the way as well. There is a little something in the cache for the FTF. Please cover the cache back up after finding it as it's not very far off the trail and this area does get some foot traffic.
