Vagli Sotto è un comune della provincia di Lucca in Toscana.
Da buon borgo della Garfagnana, ogni anno sta divenendo sempre meno popolato, sebbene questo paese abbia goduto, nei recenti anni, di qualche opera ed iniziativa comunale che ne ha allargato la fascia di interesse turistico.
Purtroppo da un po' di tempo il paese è tornato ad essere privo di iniziative e risulta in alcuni punti abbandonato.
Vagli è inoltre celebre per il lago. Sul fondo del lago di Vagli si trova il cosiddetto "antico paese di Fabbriche di Careggine": esso venne sommerso quando fu costruita la diga dall'Enel; l'ultima volta che il borgo vide la luce fu nel 1994 quando il lago fu svuotato per permettere la manutenzione della diga.
Il centro di Vagli Sotto mantiene ancora tutto il suo fascino e inonda i pochi passanti di serenità.
Molti mici girano per Vagli Sotto, ormai vi si trovano più felini che homo sapiens. Nel cercare la cache, abbiate cura di donare anche tante coccole a loro, in particolare vi è un gatto cieco, di color grigio-bianco, che attende sempre il passaggio di qualche gentil viandante.
La cache si trova davanti ad una residenza abbandonata, di proprietà di parenti dell'owner (avvisati e consenzienti) che vivono all'estero da anni or sono. Per raggiungerla, vi consiglio di lasciar l'auto al parcheggio indicato e poi visitare il paesino fino ad arrivare alle coordinate della cache (vicino alla strada che porta al cimitero). Vagli Sotto is a town in the province of Lucca in Tuscany.
From a good village in the Garfagnana, every year it is becoming less and less populated, although this town has enjoyed, in recent years, some works and municipal initiatives that have widened its range of tourist interest.
Unfortunately, for some time now the country has returned to being devoid of initiatives and is in some places abandoned.
Vagli is also famous for the lake. At the bottom of Lake Vagli is the so-called "ancient village of Fabbriche di Careggine": it was submerged when the Enel dam was built; the last time the village saw the light was in 1994 when the lake was emptied to allow maintenance of the dam.
The center of Vagli Sotto still retains all its charm and floods the few passers-by with serenity.
Many cats wander around Vagli Sotto, now there are more felines than homo sapiens. In looking for the cache, take care to also give them lots of cuddles, in particular there is a blind cat, gray-white in color, which always awaits the passage of some gentle wayfarer.
The cache is located in front of an abandoned residence, owned by relatives of the owner (forewarned and consenting) who have lived abroad for years ago. To reach it, I recommend that you leave your car at the indicated parking and then visit the village until you reach the coordinates of the cache (near the road that leads to the cemetery). Good poop / visit!
