Decided to hide some caches in my old 'neck of the woods' - and because I love series so much - welcome to the first of what I hope to be many - Having attended Fort Hunt HIgh School - what is now Carl Sandburg Middle School - we used to wait for the school bus at this very spot - when I saw what was here now, I knew it was the perfect spot for a cache. Hemingway would be pleased - since the camo for this cache is the setting for one of his short stories.......
And if you are visiting the area - and have the time - Mt. Vernon is only a couple of miles down the road - lots to do and see - you are standing on the original property of Mt. Vernon Plantation.
Please bring your own pen - be respectful of neighbors - watch for traffic - and most of all, have fun! Oh, depending on how nimble-fingered you are, you might want to bring a pair of tweezers.
