Villa Gotti Porcinari ha origini molto antiche e sorge sulle rovine dell’antico Monastero dei monaci Vallombrosiani di S.Paolo, risalente ai primi dell’anno 1000. Nei secoli ha subito diverse trasformazioni e la parte "più nuova" risale al 1700. Nei primi anni dell'800 fu costruita la chiesa adiacente alla Villa, ad opera del proprietario dell'epoca Cavalier Papanti, che fu successivamente tumulato all'interno della chiesa da lui edificata e che volle intitolata a San Paolo.
Intorno all’anno 1472, a causa delle continue lotte fra Pisani e Fiorentini, i monaci di San Paolo si trasferirono a Limone presso Livorno, lasciando la “commenda” della tenuta, una specie di usufrutto, al Cardinale Prospero Colonna; nel 1477 la commenda passò al Cardinale Giuliano della Rovere e infine nel 1522 al Cardinale Giovanni dei Medici figlio di Lorenzo il Magnifico.
Dopo poco tempo la tenuta fu data in gestione al fedelissimo Ugolino Grifoni, nominato in seguito Cavaliere dell’ordine di Santo Stefano per i suoi meriti diplomatici. Successivamente la proprietà continuò ad essere amministrata dagli eredi di Ugolino, finché nel 1774 il Granduca Pietro Leopoldo Asburgo Lorena, volendo ridurre il potere del clero, nominò la famiglia Grifoni proprietaria della Villa e dei poderi. Nell’anno 1948 la Tenuta fu acquistata dai Conti Gotti Porcinari. I Gotti, antica famiglia fiorita in Volterra fin dal X sec. ed in Pisa e Firenze unirono il cognome Porcinari, antica famiglia tra le 99 famiglie fondatrici di l’Aquila. La Contessa Margherita Gotti Porcinari con i figli Alberto, Maria Rosaria, vi hanno abitato negli anni successivi. Nell’anno 1956 la Contessa Margherita Gotti Porcinari ed i figli Elisabetta, Maria Rosaria, Adele ed Alberto, donarono alla diocesi di San Miniato circa 2000 mq di terreno affinché vi fosse costruita la nuova Chiesa Parrocchiale, con annesse la casa per il parroco e la sala parrocchiale per le attività ricreative dei ragazzi di Valtriano. Donarono inoltre un appezzamento di terreno adiacente alla chiesa affinché vi venissero costruite le scuole elementari. Attualmente la Contessa Margherita, figlia del Conte Alberto, in memoria dell’adorato padre sta proseguendo il cammino da lui iniziato per lo sviluppo del paese e per il mantenimento della memoria storica di ciò che le è stato lasciato dalla sua famiglia.
