Boninovo je ime i obližnjeg groblja, najstarijeg i najvećeg u gradu. Strme stijene do mora imaju i svoju negativnu stranu, a to je da su godinama bile omiljeno mjesto za dubrovačke samoubojice, sve dok gradske vlasti nisu postavili visoku ogradu na najkritičnije djelove zidića. Naravno, ta ograda se sada na nekim dijelovima koristi za postavljanje ljubavnih lokota.

Boninovo is also the name of a nearby cemetery, the oldest and largest in the city. The steep cliffs to the sea also have their downside, and that is that for years they were a favorite place for Dubrovnik suicides, until the city authorities put up a high fence on the most critical parts of the walls. Of course, that fence is now used in some parts to place love padlocks.
