Went to do maintenance on a nearby cache. Replaced the 'missing' cache then later founnd out the original cache was still in it's hiding place. Ended up with a spare cache. Went for a hike and found a great place to hide it along the way. This became a circle tour.
Started [N49 20.937 W117 45.362] on the old road leading up to Bedroack Creek geocache. The road deadends just past the cache. Went up to the right onto the ridge. It's a short, steep climb, and another short climb up the ridge to rock cliffs. From there, angled off to the left and climbed up onto the rock bench. Saw a nice hiding spot but it was too close to the other hide. Went along the bench and then droppped down to a level area in behind. Discovered an elk trail there. Followed it up and around to the next rock bench. The trail disappears before getting out into the clearing but you can follow your GPS to the hide.
There's a sheer drop down from where the cache is hidden. The best route down [N49 21.063 W117 45.289] starts on an old narrow road leading down off the bench. A short distance down, take an elk trail [N49 21.047 W117 45.267] leading off to the right. The road doesn't continue much further. It should be fairly easy to follow the trail down except for one tricky spot not far from the FSR. There's a slight rise. If you follow what looks like the trail straight off the rise, the trail disappears. You need to angle to the right on the rise, then you'll see the trail continues to the FSR [N49 20.946 W117 45.320].
