Doric fluted shaft above with triglyph frieze and modillion cornice below the clock itself which is flanked by volutes and has ribbed cap with urn and ball finial. Narrow doorway giving access to internal staircase in one face of shaft, and on the other, an inscription recording the erection of the tower by public subscription as memorial to King Edward.
Edward VII was King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and the British Dominions, and Emperor of India from 22 January 1901 until his death in 1910. The eldest son of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.

When I hid the cache there was alot of broken glass around the tower so not goood for the goetots. This is now in the middle of a busey road junction please be care leaving the area, as the traffic will not expect pedestrians here and the bend from this side is sharp.
