Geocache Description:

The last ice age was generous, providing so many lakes in our area.  Sunset is a 63acre lake, located about 5miles from Nelsonville, within Portage County Wisconsin. The lake provides a cool spring swim, is often crowded, though the last 3yrs have provided a challenge to find a shoreline spot, with the exceptionally high water.  At the placement of this cache, several picnic tables still remain under water, and the "overflow parking" has been virtually unusable, so plan your parking accordingly. The park offers pit-toilets, changing stations, shelter area, boat launch, trails and a pump.

We've been fortunate to observe wild, and fish-life galore.  Just 2 years ago on a weekday afternoon we watched a mother loon protecting her two young from a very aggressive eagle.  Eventually the eagle gave up, at least for the next few hours, as the mother had cleverly positioned her young within the reflection of the sun off the lake.

This is a cache hide, taking advantage of some old storm damage.  You are looking for a camouflauged container, with trading swag, and a writing instrument.

You may have to avoid some poison ivy or ticks during certain times of the year. And, use stealth.  Please respect the rules of the Portage County parks, which are open from 6am-11pm.

Congrats Bigjim60 on FTF
