Medoc Mountain State Park
Bluff Loop Trail
Serenity seems to pervade Medoc Mountain State Park, enhanced by gentle Fishing Creek and a scenic open meadow that spreads from the picnic grounds. Anglers and paddlers are drawn to Fishing Creek—considered to be one of the cleanest streams in the region—that flows for about 2.5 miles through the park. Some of the park’s ten miles of hiking trails wander along the creek; others climb several hundred feet to the upper reaches of Medoc Mountain. Roughly ten miles of bridle trails and trailhead parking serve equestrians. The 34-site campground has RV-friendly sites and bathhouse, and warm-weather group camp facilities are nearby. Medoc Mountain also has nine (9) miles of multi-use mountain biking trails through rolling terrain suitable for riders of all skill levels. Rangers offer free interpretive programs and hikes.
This is going to be a series of caches that has been approved for placement under guidelines set by the park superintendent Kelley King and are placed at unique spots throughout the park to highlight the parks many features. All caches are located and accessible along the current trail system and parking coordinates will be shown for each one. Only attempt these caches during normal park hours. Do not attempt this cache from the highway. It is a violation of park rules to access trails from any place other than dedicated parking and could result in a fine if caught. Park in designated areas and use only the dedicated trail system to access the area
#4 on the list is accesible via 2 different trailheads and would be a good idea to grab a park map which can be picked up at the information center located by the picnic shelter or from the visitor center. You will find yourself on the Bluff Loop trail which starts in the low land along Little Fishing creek before climbing on top of the bluffs. Once you get to GZ the search begins. This cache will be located in the narrow section between the trails. Your looking for a small lock n lock with a custom cache inside. BYOP-RAF
