The Ise Katagami Museum was opened in 1997 by restoring the house of the Terao Saibei family, one of the leading stencil wholesalers in Shiroko, which was built in the late Edo period. The Terao family had been engaged in the production and sale of Ise-katagami since the Edo period (1603-1868), and their business extended from the Tohoku region to the Kanto region. The Terao family's house is designated as a city historical site as a merchant house related to stencils and as a representative example of machiya architecture. This historic building was donated by Mr. Shoichi Terao. The Ise Katagami Museum houses and exhibits katagami materials. Please bring a pen. 伊勢型紙資料館は、江戸時代末期の建物で白子屈指の型紙問屋であった寺尾斎兵衛家の住宅を修復して、平成9年に開館しました。寺尾家は江戸時代から伊勢型紙の生産から販売までを行い、行商範囲は東北地方から関東一円にも及んでいました。寺尾家住宅は、型紙関係の商家としてまた町家建築の代表例として、市史跡に指定されています。この由緒ある建物は、寺尾正一氏から寄贈を受けたものです。伊勢型紙資料館では、型紙資料などを収蔵・展示しています。ペンを持参ください。キャッシュを発見した方は、ログシートに記入後、元あった場所に再度隠してください。
