Geocache Description:

Kansas Symbols

On March 12, 1903 the wild native sunflower became the official state flower of Kansas.

"An Ode the the Kansas Sunflower"- By Ed Blair

Oh Sunflower! The queen of all flowers,

No other with you can compare,

The roadside and fields are made golden

Because of your bright presence there.

The yellow faces of the sunflower are a bright yellow just like the sun.  The young flowers even track the motion of the sun, turning their faces as the day progresses.  A September drive across Kansas is colored golden by the state's flower.

In 1976 schoolchildren collected signatures from students across Kansas to make the honeybee the official state insect.  "It was said that the honeybee is like all Kansans in that it is proud; only fignts in defense of something it cherishes; is a friendly bundle of energy; is always helping others throughout its lifetime; is a strong, hard worker with limitless abilities; and is a mirror of the virtue, triumph, and glory."

(Information from the Kansas Histiorical Society website)

This is an easy puzzle.  Find the cache and then decide if the log is under the honey or the bee.

Please put cache back where you found it and bring a pen.

Happy Hunting!!!
