I lived in Kenya, East Africa for 20 years; in fact I have just recently returned from living there. Each house I lived in had geckos living right alongside me. I loved that because they ate all the mosquitoes that came inside, plus other unwanted insects. Geckos have pretty amazing feet that allow them to climb on vertical surfaces. Their favorite spots to hide in my house were behind my wall hangings. They were especially active in the evenings which is also when the mosquitoes became active. Geckos come in all sorts of different colors.
It seems that another one climbed into my suitcase when I was packing to return to the US. But there aren't any mosquitoes lliving in my house here, so I thought it might rather prefer lving in the wooded areas around Cunningham Lake.
