Dartford is one of the world’s oldest cricket clubs with a long and rich history dating back to 1727. The club celebrated its 275th anniversary in 2003.
They are one of Kent’s largest and leading clubs and their home ground, Hesketh Park, having recently undergone a significant development of its facilities, is one of the county’s finest grounds and a former home to Kent County Cricket Club. It is a wonderful setting for players and spectators on matchdays. I saw my first professional match here when Kent played Surrey and a very young Alec Stewart scored a century.
The likes of former England great Graham Dilley, Kent’s Derek Ufton and Trevor Ward all grew up playing their cricket in Dartford.
