Geocache Description:

The cache is a nano located in Riverbend Park. At times there are many muggles, so please use stealth.

This location was originally the site of a bleachery, built 1925-1927 and established in 1927 as a finishing plant.  Gray burlap-type cotton was brought to a finish through bleaching, dying and printing to create a final fabric. Nearby a village of 81 homes for employess was built in 1925 and became a vibrant and close community. Parts of the community were taken for the building of I-240.

The plant was sold in 1962 but continued to produce about 3 million yards of Fortrel fabric a week. The site was again sold to developers in 1991 and 4 years later the factory was demolished. Eventually the land was developed into the current large retail store and shopping center.  Many in the area hoped the land would remain as green space, the compromise was this park.

Congratulations to gotro&hc for FTF!!
