Wabash and Erie Canal Park
The Wabash and Erie Canal was a shipping canal that linked the Great Lakes to the Ohio River via an artificial waterway. The canal provided traders with access from the Great Lakes all the way to the Gulf of Mexico. Over 460 miles long, it was the longest canal ever built in North America.
Interactive Museum
We welcome you to tour this national award-winning feature in our Interpretive Center. It’s also the only museum designed to tell the whole story of the Wabash & Erie Canal’s 44-year operational history.
Canal Boat
We have an authentically replicated passenger boat called The Delphi. Take one of our 40-minute narrated tours available for reservation so you and a small group can take a beautiful boat ride down the canal!
Pioneer Village
Visitors are welcome to walk through Pioneer Village on their own or take a group tour. Our 19th-century tradespeople and buildings are available during events, demonstrations, and cabin tours. All docents and tradespeople are volunteers, so specific trades or cabins are subject to availability.
Red Bridge Settlement
Cross over the 1901 Stone Arch Bridge to find yourself in the Red Bridge Settlement, where the historical Lime Kilns reside. You’ll see The Red Bridge in the distance as you approach the Pivot Bridge, Mill, and the Hubbard and Harley Warehouse.
