I lived in Kenya, East Africa for 20 years; in fact I have just recently returned from living there. Each house I lived in had geckos living right alongside me. I loved that because they ate all the mosquitoes that came inside, plus other unwanted insects. They climbed on the walls and especially liked to hide behind my wall hangings. They were especially active in the evenings and were a variety of colors.
It seems that a few of them climbed into my suitcase when I was busy packing to return to the US. But there aren't any mosquitoes living in my house here, so I thought they might rather prefer living in the wooded areas around Cunningham Lake.
In fact, Gecko #3 is very excited to live so close to so many ducks. He loves it when they quack, because he doesn't know how to make any sounds at all! He's also quite fascinated that ducks can move around in the water.
