1030-1200
Sunday 31st October 2021
Welcome back to Town Quay Park!
Hi guys! We've been invited back to this lovely city waterfront centre green space on Sunday 31st October to help the Friends of TQP with some important maintenance work.
The main tasks will be:
some shrub clearance
digging of Huguenot Bed and possible planting in their memory
painting railings in front of Far East Prisoners of War memorial
preparation of Far East Prisoners of War area prior to their annual Commemoration on 18 November
spring bulb planting
…and any other maintenance tasks, as required
We’ll meet at the posted coordinates just before 1030am to sign the log and meet with our host, Roger, who will give us our briefing. We'll then work through to about 12ish.
Roger and his team will provide all equipment required, but please bring your own gloves.
If you have a pair of secateurs that would be handy, but not essential.
Please also consider wearing appropriate clothing and sensible footwear. The event will proceed in any weather unless there are high winds or storms. There will be appropriate tasks for almost any ability level.
IMPORTANT:
Please bring your own gloves.
Please indicate your ‘will attend’
...so we have an idea of numbers and you will receive any updates to proceedings. Experience has shown this is often the case!
Parking
There is free parking available in the adjacent Gloucester Road car park or on French Street. If you’re planning on staying in the city centre all afternoon, you may have to pay for the day.
Health and Safety
All health and safety rules apply. Children will need supervision and pets kept under control.
Everyone is welcome - including any visitors just passing by :-)
Any more questions, please get in touch!
Thanks for reading this, and hope to see you there!
