Geocache Description:

During the early and mid-1900s, gravel was excavated from the area immediately east of the Mill River and much of it was used in the construction of the Merritt Parkway.  This excavation was responsible for the creation of a man-made lake, Lake Mohegan.  The South end of the lake is a busy, beautiful swimming area and the North end, where the cache is hidden, is quiet and serene where one can reflect on the beauty of the area.

Drive north on Morehouse Highway (past the lower parking area) and follow the Cascades area access road.  Parking is permitted in the lower area of the access road where you'll find picnic tables available and a beautiful view of the lake.

Should you wish to stay and explore the area, here's a link to a Lake Mohegan Open Space trail map.

Original cache location was changed in February, 2024, after having gone missing three times.  Coordinates have been updated and name changed to reflect the new location.  Good luck!
