This cache will have you exploring a quiet section of Phillip Island, home to approximately half a million Short-tailed Shearwaters (muttonbirds) every summer.
In the words of Mary Salmon (The Town and Country Journal, March 13, 1912), "Cape Woolamai is looked upon as the place where the greatest number of nests are to be found; and it is, at the same time, the most romantically wild and picturesque spot, the cliffs rising up in abrupt peaks of a deep heavy hue, showing against the translucent blue of the ocean and the white foam round the rocks like some turreted castles."
The nearest carpark to the cache is around a 2km walk. We recommend low tide for this walk.
