It's officially a tradition of our family's to hike Buffalo Peak in early October to enjoy some fantastic fall foliage and incredible scenery. It's a short hike after a nice drive along squaw peak road, and one that even our hiking-averse children get excited about! We were a little later this year and missed the best of the fall foliage, but the hike was still fun and the views were still amazing, even if the trails were a little muddier and snowier than when we've gone earlier in the month.
When preparing for this year's hike, I noticed that there was room to fit in a new geocache along the trail, so I was sure to bring a container along with me. I hid it in some rocks near the side of the trail. It'll be easier to get to if you go down the hill a little bit, but you don't have to go far off the main trail.
Bring the family and friends along and enjoy one of our family's favorite hikes in a beautiful location!
