The 40th Street trailhead is a gateway to an amazing desert perserve. There are multiple enterences to the Phoenix Mountain Preserve -- this is a lesser known parking area but can be very popular during certain hours of the day.
Come join us for an afternoon/evening event at the ramada to socialize and discuss the wonders of the desert preserve. Visiting with fellow cachers and enjoying outdoors now that we have cooler weather should not be missed! Trackables will be available for exchange or discovery.
This event will be held at the the Ramanda in Phoenix, located at 9200 N 40th St, Phoenix, AZ 85028. The event will start at 4:00 PM and end at 4:30 in the afternoon. This will allow plenty of time for a hike before sunset. (This area has amazing sunsets!)
All abilities welcome to the meet & greet at the ramada.
For those interested in hiking afterward, there are many trails for various hiking levels. I'm almost sure I have hiked them all. 
Bring a headlamp, some water and wear sturdy shoes! There are lots of loose rock and the potential for snakes - come be prepared if you plan to hike!
