This geocache is across the road from the crash site so that it doesn't interfere. It is an interesting location that I discovered while dirt biking. Bring a writing device to sign the logbook. Do not remove anything from the crash site. Please leave everything the way you found it.
Mosquito KB126: Took off for training flight. 19/04/1944
Crashed 12 miles SSE of Bridgetown at 00:57 hrs. 20/04/1944
The Aircraft Card for Mosquito KB126 records the crash date as 22 April 1944, but this may be the date the report reached RCAF HQ. RAF schools were often slow to report accidents. The crash site is reported as "near West Dalhousie", which is about 30 miles south west of Greenwood. The aircraft was scrapped on site, this was common for Mosquito crashes in Canada. The damaged wooden airframes didn't travel well.
Two crew members perished as a result of this plane crash. Rest in peace.
