Geocache Description:

This cache is located at a viewpoint overlooking Bishopton and views in the distance out to Glasgow Airport and the Erskine Bridge.  The site currently being developed closest to the viewpoint is the Dargavel Village development in Bishopton, which is built on the former grounds of the Royal Ordanace Factory, which was a WWII Ministry of Supply Explosive Factory that produced the propellant cordite.  If you walk around the outskirts of this development BAE Systems signs can still be seen warning about the Manufacture and Storage of Explosives.

This cache was created by my daughter Caitlyn, who has got into Geocaching as part of a badge she has worked towards in Guides.

There is a country path you will need to walk on to get to this cache, which starts on Slateford road.  When you get to the fork in the path, take a right, go through the gate and follow the path up the hill to the viewpoint.

We hope you enjoy this cache.
