Riverside Park in Veazie is located at the historic site of the old Veazie dam. The dam, which was built in 1913 was torn down in 2013 so that 11 species of native sea-run fish could migrate up and down the Penobscot again. The long stone structures upstream are the remains of an earlier dam and sawmills that were owned by Samuel Veazie and built in the 1830's.
The small lock and lock cache is not winter friendly. Short walk from parking area.
