The cache is repurposed M&M candy tube, similar in size to a soda bottle preform; hidden about 50 ft off trail. The path to the cache is open and on flat ground; but the slope does drop off quickly beyond the hide, so please watch your step. There is PO nearby but it should not hinder access to the cache.
This is my first ever (and probably only) hide in Henry Coe. I usually don't hide caches this far from home, since they are too hard to maintain. But on a big loop hike with tiptop3, we noted this particular section of trail had few geocaches; and we had been spoiled by the dense concentration of hides above. When I saw this rocky, cache-worthy spot I decided to rummage through my cache-kit, where I found a container and a pencil. And tiptop3 had a log. So a new cache was born.
With partial views of the valley and the opposite ridge, this is not a bad spot to take a snack break.
Congratulations to Geokashers for FTF!
