Deze cache is geïnspireerd op de geweldige multi Fotogeniek Leuven van Mathias999. Als je het nog niet hebt geprobeerd, raad ik het ten zeerste aan als een geweldige manier om absolute hoogtepunten van de stad te ontdekken.
Het idee van mijn cache is vrij gelijkaardig. Als expat die al jaren in Leuven woont, ben ik helemaal dol van deze stad. Zowel door de opmerkelijke architectuur als de levendige sfeer, gevoed door duizenden jonge mensen die hier studeren. Door gezellige cafés en pubs. Chique restaurants naast goedkope studentenkantines. Onhandige beelden en moderne kunst. En natuurlijk de adembenemende Grote Markt.
Met mijn cache neem ik je graag mee voor een wandeling van ongeveer 5.5 km door deze schitterende parel van Vlaams-Brabant. Maar het pad is iets anders bij Fotogeniek Leuven. Ik wil je niet alleen de absolute toeristenklassiekers laten zien, maar ook het uitzicht op de stad vanuit het oogpunt van de student: waar we urenlang zouden studeren voor de examens, gingen drinken, feesten, eten ... Jij kan ook het minder bezochte maar zeker interessante deel van het Leuvense leven zien, meer vanuit het oogpunt van de lokale bevolking. Let op: de cache is niet een rondje, dus als je terug wilt naar het stadscentrum, moet je meer afstand lopen.
Multi zelf is heel eenvoudig, omdat er geen moeilijke taken voor nodig zijn. Er zijn meerdere waypoints die je tijdens de wandeling tegenkomt. Elk van hen heeft een toegewezen foto met een letter erop (bekijk het document met afbeeldingen hieronder). De letter en het nummer van het waypoint kunnen worden gebruikt om de uiteindelijke coördinaten te coderen waar de cache zich bevindt. Veel geluk!
Vergeet niet het document met foto's hier uit te printen of te downloaden: Another Photogenic Leuven Niet alle foto's hoeven te worden gebruikt, want er zijn 24 fotos maar alleen 23 waypoints.

This cache was inspired by absolutely great multi Fotogeniek Leuven by Mathias999. If you didn’t have the opportunity to discover it yet, I highly recommend it as a fantastic way to discover absolute highlights of the city.
The idea of my cache is pretty similar. As an expat living for many years in Leuven I am absolutely fond of this city. Both by its remarkable architecture and vibrant atmosphere fuelled by thousands of young people studying in faculties spread all around the place. By cosy cafes and pubs serving whole range of delicious beers. Fancy restaurants placed next door to cheap student canteens. Sometimes awkward statues and modern art. And naturally the breath-taking Grote Markt.
With my cache, I would like to take you for around 5.5 km walk through this magnificent pearl of Vlaams Brabant. But the path is slightly different by the Fotogeniek Leuven. I want to show you not only the absolute tourists classics, but also the view on the city from the student point of view: where we would spent long hours of studying before exams, go for a drink, party, eat… Like this, you can also see the less visited but definitely interesting part of Leuven life, more from the local’s point of view. Please notice that the cache is not a round itself, so if you want to return to the city centre, you must count some additional distance to walk.
Multi itself is very simple, as it does not require any difficult tasks to perform. There are multiple waypoints that you would encounter during the walk. Each of them has an assigned photo with a letter on it (have a look at document with pictures below). The letter and the number of waypoint can be used to encode the final coordinates where the cache is located. Good luck!
