Geocache Description:

Enjoy a half mile walk on the new Cliffwood Coulee Trail in beautiful Mirror Lake State Park. In winter, the trail is a great place to snowshoe. This new trail opened in November of 2020, and will be extended to connect with the Pioneer Trail.

Start at the parking coordinates and walk on the paved Ishnala bridge trail, until you come to the bridge, and take the Clifford Coulee trail to the right to the posted coords. At the posted coords you will find a bench, where you will get the coords for the final. This part of the trail is above the 50' Mirror Lake Gorge, looking down on the small creek and the sandstone bluffs. As of 2021, the trail is not yet shown on the trail maps.

The posted coords take you to a bench with a great view. At the bench, get some information off of the dedication plaque to calculate the final coords. This is a very easy multi, and a great place to get a multi without fear that you will not be able to find it.

The final is at N 43° 34.AB5' W 89° 48.2C4'

A = Number of letters in the first word

B = Number of C's on the plaque

C = Number of M's on the plaque

This cache was placed by Hotdogs_Off_Trail in October 2021, while serving as campground hosts for a month at Mirror Lake. Since Hotdogs are in the Arkansas Ozarks for a lot of the year, they asked for a volunteer local person to submit it for review and provide maintenance as it may become needed. Fun fact: Hotdogs_Off_Trail are one of the few remaining Charter members of Geocaching.com.  Like all Hotdogs_Off_Trail caches, this one takes you to a cache worthy location. Enjoy the search!

PLEASE STAY ON THE TRAIL until you get close to the cache area. There are steep canyon cliffs nearby, and bushwhacking would be detrimental to this beautiful, fragile area.
