Geocache Description:

The Pumphouse

The Elizabeth Street Pumphouse, seen at stage one, was contructed in 1905 to pump water around the town of grimsby and up to the reservoir up the side of the escarpment (Stage 2) the pumphouse was in operation until the early 1990s. Soon after, the pumphouse was converted into a recreational facility and the lands around it were turned into a park and trail. Another important historical event happened here, the engagement at the forty, a battle in the war of 1812, right here at the entrance of forty mile creek located just to the east of the pumphouse.

About The Cache:

This is a 3 stage multi, The first stage will bring you to the pumphouse and require you to answer some questions off of a plaque nearby, The second stage will bring you to the old reservoir on the mountain that the pumphouse used to pump to, you will take your answers from those two stages and recieve the final coordinates. There is no need to go anywhere near the private yards for it. On another note, this is also my 700th hide published!
