Barmishaw Hole
The cache, a camo-taped preform tube, is hidden south of the location shown on maps of the area, and just off the trail running from Keighley Road east below Barmishaw Wood and on past Willy Hall's Wood towards White Wells and Rocky Valley.
See GC9JDQM The Barmishaw Stone for an explanation of the name Barmishaw. The name 'Hole' presumably derives from the topography of the area below the Barmishaw Crags rocky outcrop.
To Reach the Cache Location: park @ N 53 54.977 W 1 50.090 a small lay-by on the Keighley Road, head down and across the footbridge over Spicey Gill and continue east to the cache location.
In winter or after prolonged rain, the path can get muddy in places, but should still be easily passable.
You may notice some strange markings on the top of the boulder, however unlike many other rocks on the moor these are not neolithic rock art or glacial striations but BMX bike scrapes!
So keep your wits about you as you carry out your cachly activities in case one suddenly appears as it careers down these slopes!
