If you are a dinosaur fan, you probably know that dinosaurs roamed the earth way back in the Jurassic and Cretaceous Periods. You might also know that their time on earth ended when a meteor crashed into the Gulf of Mexico 65 million years ago. Well, apparently this fellow didn't get the memo because here he is, terrorizing passing motorists on Hwy 74 in the middle of Evergreen! Or more likely, terorizing their young passengers!
I'm usually driving a car back and forth down this stretch of highway, so I never spotted this guy (I keep my eyes on the road, watching for the deer and elk, along this stretch). But a friend infomed me that her young tutoring student spotted this monster when they parked in a lot west of the highway. They lead me to this spot, so I decdided it is worthy of a geocache, so all of us can enjoy this creation!
Park at the shoulder near "The Spirit of Evergreen" (a bonus!), and follow the faint path on the roadway side of the fence, under the utility lines. You can also access "No Outlet" from this parking spot. The east side of the fence is private property, so stay on the west (street) side. Be freindly though and wave to the nearby homeowners, if they are out on their deck. The slope falls off steeply to the highway in places, so be extra careful if you have children or dogs with you (which by all means, you should).
I had to move the geocache a short distance from my preferred location because of the Geocaching proximity requirement (there is a multicache stage across the highway). To get a close-up look at T-Rex you must climb the short hill south of GZ and look to the left.
