This cache placement in Potter Park in McCandless is part of a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) project for a 3rd grade class in a Pittsburgh Public School. Students created "Save the Earth" travel bugs in the classroom, which are being released in this cache. I have done this for a number of years with my STEAM Cache (GC69Q7W) in North Park, but I wanted to hide a new one so that the travel bugs are picked up quickly since the original one only gets found periodically.
The parking coordinates listed for Potter Park are on Harmony Drive, which is off of Ingomar Rd. It starts out as paved and then turns into a gravel road. Don't worry about the Private Drive sign, which is just for thru traffic. Potter Park is a McCandless public park. The cache is located just a short distance from parking, but head down the trail after your find if you want to check out the pond or find my 2 other caches if you haven't found them yet.
Students are tracking how far their travel bugs travel, so please only take them if you plan on keeping them moving. Feel free to take more than one because the faster they get moving the better. Good luck!
