Meilin Greenway Reloaded (MGR)
A political boundary divided the City of Shenzhen in 1978. The southern portion was designated as a Special Economic Zone (SEZ), while the northern region remained a part of hinterland China. The divide created a geographical and psychological chasm in the administrative and ontological existence of Shenzhen. The locals dubbed this border "the Second Line".
Today the political boundary is already history, while the physical heritage remains. Some of the stone-paved roads, which used to the patrol roads for the armed police, became the first greenway in Shenzhen, known as the Meilin Greenway (梅林绿道). Unlike other greenways in the city, you can find abandoned barbed wires and sentry boxes along Meilin Greenway, reminding you that the greenway was once a redline.
During 2016-2017, Bd7lx and sia Shen placed a lot of amazing caches along this greenway. I hope that the increase in the density of caches could attract more geo-friends to visit this beautiful walkway.
This one should be easy. Please take this easy-to-find cache as a small gift for the small milestone #10. However, you should not smoke a cigarette to celebrate. You are in the wild, cigarettes may cause wildfire.
