TW is for Thieve's World. A series of books which I believe is no longer in print. Each cache will be dedicated to one of the main characters from the stories.
One Thumb is the proprietor and bar keep at the tavern named the Vulgar Unicorn. A larger sort of man with dark skin, a balding head and beard. He wears worn dirty clothing. A thoroughly low down dirty individual. He fits the the Vulgar Unicorn quite well. Though to a very few in the know he does his moonlighting as the minor nobleman Lastel. He cleans up well I suppose and even wears a prosthetic thumb. Oh yes did I mention he attained his known name because he has only one thumb? The books never tell how he lost that said thumb. He appears in primarily in the first three or so books and then kinda gets lost in a quite questionable way leading to great debate among fans and even the authors.
This cache is larger than the missing appendage but smaller than most fists. As you approach hiking along the trail it can be found about twenty feet from a rather unique looking cedar tree.
