Geocache Description:

Rancho San Vicente Open Space Preserve is a fairly recent addition to Calero County Park, and the Lisa Killough trail leading to Lisa's Lookout is a heartfelt tribute to a lifelong advocate for open spaces, and park preservation and expansion. This cache marks the first resting spot on her eponymous trail and is just a small part of her legacy.

This cache is a camoflaged pill container (see the update) that's in plain view when approached from the trailhead and facing the bench, but it blends well. The terrain is 1.5 until the last step so we added 0.5 for the slight nimbleness and reach that's required to retrieve it. It's good for precocious geocachers but they will need a boost.

UPDATE 3/5/23: The host tree has been disintegrating and the original hide location is no longer available. The branch that held the cache in place near the top of the trunk had completely broken off - not the first time that’s happened for this hide — and the original cache was nowhere to be found (by us, at least). But we DID find someone else’s cache in excellent condition in a hole at the bottom of the trunk. This cache had a clean and dry log book with signatures starting in 2018 with a FTF by Kittyshrink. It looks like a previously archived hide in the exact right location, hidden in a way that matched the hint! Comparing the log books it seems both caches were in play for at least 6 months, with some cachers finding the hide at the top end of the trunk and some at the bottom.
