Il Castello del Parco - Uno scrigno da scoprire Il Castello del Parco è un luogo ricco di fascino dove moderno e antico si fondono divenendo tutt'uno con la vegetazione variegata e lussureggiante. Rappresenta il simbolo della rinascita medievale dell'antica città romana di Nuceria Alfater- na. Il Castello del Parco è attestato per la prima volta in età Longobarda nel 984 d.C. così come tramandato da una per- gamena del Codice Diplomatico Cavese. La fortezza, ubicata sulla sommità di una dolce collina (160 m s.l.m. ca.), fu uti- lizzata in questa prima fase di vita come residenza di principi salernitani che lo utilizzarono come luogo sicuro e assolu- tamente inespugnabile da cui amministrare il piccolo borgo di Nuceria, sviluppatosi alle falde della collina, caposaldo del sistema difensivo dei Longobardi di Salerno nei confronti dei Bizantini di Napoli.
The Castle of the Park - A treasure chest to discover The Castle of the Park is a place full of charm where modern and ancient merge becoming one with the variegated and luxuriant vegetation. It represents the symbol of the medieval rebirth of the ancient Roman city of Nuceria Alfaterna. The Castle of the Park is attested for the first time in the Lombard period in 984 AD. as handed down by a par- gamena of the Cavese Diplomatic Code. The fortress, located on the top of a gentle hill (approx. 160 m asl), was used in this first phase of life as the residence of Salerno princes who used it as a safe and absolutely impregnable place from which to administer the small village of Nuceria, which developed on the slopes of the hill, a cornerstone of the defensive system of the Lombards of Salerno against the Byzantines of Naples.
