Donovan Park used to be a golf course, managed by the Peoria Parks District. Several years ago the golf course was closed and this location was re-purposed as an excellent city park. The park is at the center of a vibrant part of town with shops and restaurants nearby. The solid-rock-seekwell family enjoys visiting Donovan Park for many reasons. We've enjoyed geocaching, CITO events, walks, orienteering, star-gazing, and eating at Cyd's.
On a visit to the park last year, we discovered a benchmark relatively close to this location which we logged on geocaching.com! Unfortunately Groundspeak discountinued support of benchmarks on January 4, 2023. I've placed this cache, in part, to draw attention to benchmarking.
