This piece of land is one of St. Johns County's premier conservation areas. Connected to McCullough Creek, this property serves as a buffer for our important wetland habitat as well as conserves upland habitat for conservation. There are miles of trials to hike, bike, and horseback ride. This property is also acitvely utilized for siviculture (the growing and harvesting of timber).
One of the ways we maintain this prestine ecostystem is through prescribed burns, note some of the char marks on the trees. Believe it or not fire is incredibly important to maintain a healthy florida pine flatwood habitat.
