Geocache Description:

        Kenthurst Geotrail

Tung-Yu Park

Welcome to the site of Tung-Yu Park Roadhouse - Phone Number Dural #7 (1935).

Advertised in the Sydney Jewish News, 30 April 1948 as The Continent In The Bush!  An ideal spot to spend the week-end.  Bungalows with own toilet and Hot and Cold Water!

Peter and Louisa Warclaw purchased the 30-acre property with the intention of building a Tung Oil plantation.  When this was unsuccessful the resourceful couple built a roadhouse using sandstone quarried from the property.   The roadhouse offered Horse Riding, Fishing and Canoeing as well as swimming in the natural pool on O'Hara's creek at the rear of the property.

Part of the original Tung-Yu Roadhouse property continues to operate under the name Allegro, a popular wedding and events venue.

This cache may require stealth as it is within sight of the Rural Fire Service Station.

Come and visit Kenthurst

Walk, drive or better still get on your bike!  Riding is a great way to get out and enjoy the fresh air, get some exercise, and explore Kenthurst.

This Geotrail runs from Kenthurst Park to Round Corner for approximately 7km (one way) along the Rick Temple Memorial shared footpath.  It can be done in any direction.

The route is easily accessible to cyclists, pedestrians, and those choosing to explore by car. The trail is downhill from Round Corner to Kenthurst Park and parking is available at both ends of the trail.

Halfway along the trail is Kenthurst Village where there is a small supermarket, café, and local park with a playground for the children.

Round Corner is a larger commercial centre with a small shopping centre with several cafes, supermarkets, and specialty shops.

Toilet facilities are available at Kenthurst Park, John Benyon Rotary Park, and at the shops at Round Corner.
