Geocache Description:

        Kenthurst Geotrail

Oranges, Oranges, Oranges!!

This cache is located next to an orange orchard following the tradition of citrus growing in the Hills District.  Cirtus has been grown in Kenthurst, with great success since the 1800's; celebrated at the the councils annual Orange Blossom festival.  Emperor mandarins and Valencia oranges were the most widely grown in the sandy loam that dominates the Kenthurst landscape.  Citrus production in Kenthurst continues to this day at small local farms such as at GZ or large commercial ventures such as Eyles and Sons still located in Pitt Town Road.

Locating the Cache

Please find somewhere safe to park along Kenthurst Road, it does get rather busy at times.  The cache is a micro container and will require stealth on this busy road and shared cycleway!!

Get out and about in Kenthurst

Walk, drive or better still get on your bike!  Riding is a great way to get out and enjoy the fresh air, get some exercise, and explore Kenthurst.

This Geotrail runs from Kenthurst Park to Round Corner for approximately 7km (one way) along the Rick Temple Memorial shared footpath.  It can be done in any direction.

The route is easily accessible to cyclists, pedestrians, and those choosing to explore by car. The trail is downhill from Round Corner to Kenthurst Park and parking is available at both ends of the trail.

Halfway along the trail is Kenthurst Village where there is a small supermarket, café, and local park with a playground for the children.

Round Corner is a larger commercial centre with a small shopping centre with several cafes, supermarkets, and specialty shops.

Toilet facilities are available at Kenthurst Park, John Benyon Rotary Park, and at the shops at Round Corner.
