座標の場所からは名古屋城の水のない外堀が見えます。このお堀の底を、1914年から1976年まで鉄道（私鉄の瀬戸線）が走っており、ここには大津町駅がありました。
現在はルートが変更され、栄町駅まで延伸された際にお堀の中の路線は廃止されましたが、それ以前は官庁街が近いことやバスとの連絡がしやすかったことから、多くの人で賑わっていたようです。
現在では、旧大津町駅に降りる階段とその手すりだけが残っていますが、立入禁止になっています。
From the GZ you can see the waterless outer moat of Nagoya Castle. A railroad line (Seto Line of a private railway) ran along the bottom of this moat from 1914 to 1976, and Otsumachi Station was located here.
The route has now been changed and the line inside the moat was discontinued when the line was extended to Sakae-machi Station, but before that, the area was crowded with people because of its proximity to the government offices and easy access to buses.
Today, only the stairs leading down to the old Otsumachi Station remain, but they are off-limits.
