Geocache Description:

This cache is not at the posted coordinates.  But the cache is somewhere in Thomas Mundy Peterson Park -- a beautiful addition to Perth Amboy's Marina District and the Middlesex County Park System!  Parking available.  The path from the parking lot to the hiding spot is wheelchair accessible, but a person cannot grab the container from a wheelchair.

This Mystery / Puzzle is a bonus cache for the Marina District Adventure Lab.  You have to pursue the Adventure Lab to obtain the actual solution coordinates for this bonus cache.

The Marina District Adventure Lab can be found on the AL smartphone map in Perth Amboy or via this weblink:  Marina District

You can search for & log this bonus as Found as soon as you have the solution coords -- no need to wait til completing the entire Adventure Lab.

Conversely, you do not need to find this bonus cache to complete the Adventure Lab.

Congrats to Tobric on the superfast FTF.

About Thomas Mundy Peterson Park

The park honors Thomas Mundy Peterson, the first African-American in the entire U.S. to cast a vote under the 15th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Although enslaved African-Americans had been freed by the 13th Amendment in 1865, the 15th Amendment was ratified in 1870 to extend voting rights to men (not women) of all races.  However, after the 15th Amendment, many African-Americans throughout the U.S. were still denied the right to vote by state constitutions & laws, poll taxes, literacy tests, and outright intimidation.

Yet, on March 31, 1870, Peterson was allowed to vote in Perth Amboy.

While in this park, check out the informative Arthur Kill sign towards the water.  Then look across the water, to the north, to spot the Tottenville station of the Staten Island Railway, which ends at Saint George for the Staten Island Ferry.
