Telegraph Hill was once a key staging point for messages going from London Admiralty down to Portsmouth, with a semaphore station set up in 1822. This hill is now popular with dog walkers and families enjoying the space and open views. Parking in Telegraph Lane from the Claygate side and also in the streets to the north of Telegraph Hill towards Hinchley Wood.
Follow the stream bed when you enter this path from Hinchley Wood towards Claygate, look at the roots of the huge oak tree on the right. You're looking for a jam jar with treasure to swop and a log book and a pencil.
