Blagdon Hill is a typical Somerset village, in that it meanders along both sides of a long, winding road. This road is the old turnpike from Taunton, four miles to the north that carried the coaches over the Blackdown Hills to Devon and beyond. It is easy to see how the village got its name - and it does need the word 'Hill', to distinguish it from Blagdon on the Mendips. More than one lorry-driver has turned nasty when told he has another 50 miles to go.
This is our first hide in the village where we live, a beautiful walk, we often pass on a dog walk! A easy find !
