Wherever possible please always stay on existing paths to reduce damage to the plants and wildlife living in this area. Camping, off-road vehicles and fires are strictly prohibited in this area. Dogs are welcome, but if you have one, please take care to clean up after them.
This cache is a great one for beginners, a bit tricky but easy to access and rewarding once you do finally find it. Please bring your own pencil / pen (BYOP) since the cache isn't large enough to accommodate one.
Fun facts about Swansea University Bay Campus:
- The campus resides within the boundaries of Coedffranc, Skewen rather than Swansea as implied by the name.
- Bay Campus started development in 2012, opening to the public in 2015. It was originally home to just the College of Engineering and the School of Management, but this was extended to the College of Science's departments of Computer Science and Mathematics when the Computational Foundry was completed in 2018.
- The University's foundation stone was laid by King George V on 19 July 1920.
- The Swansea School of Law is the largest law school in Wales and ranks third in the UK for criminology and twenty-second in the UK for law.
- Engineering has been studied at Swansea University since its very beginning in 1920; nowadays it has 5 engineering buildings, holding 30,000m2 of laboratory and office space and over £10 million of research and teaching equipment.
- One of the institution’s greatest achievements last year was “Welsh University of the Year” title, awarded by The Sunday Times Good University Guide.
