Geocache Description:

We are two students in high school in the province of Groningen and we have decided to use this tool of geocaching to make us go from small to big and to connect two places that are geographically far away.

As time passes, technology and information are becoming more and more prominent in our daily life, geocaching is a way to challenge yourself and go outside. We can’t always travel far distances to look at new countries and places. We can of course look at pictures online, like with google earth, but then we are always stuck at home. With geocaching you can discover places near home, but it can make you connect to faraway places. As you know, this geocache is in the province of Groningen, The Netherlands. But out in the USA there is also a small town called Groningen in Minnesota, with some geocaches there. The goal of this geocache is to make connections to the USA through the link between Groningen Minnesota, USA and Groningen, NL. While Groningen is both a province and a city in the Netherlands, and the city has approximately 200,000 inhabitants, Groningen in the USA is just a tiny town that is barely noticeable, with only around 30 inhabitants (but has several cool geocaches!). The small American town was actually named after Groningen in the Netherlands. With this geocache we hope to create a link between these two places which are geographically far away but share a name and maybe more.
