Geocache Description:

Over the course of my caching travels, I have noticed that many of my favourite "bush/adventure caches" seem to share one very similar ingredient...

Welcome to "D2/T4 Explorer Challenge (Myron Brook)"

The mighty difficulty 2, terrain 4 cache has taken me all over Australia and the world, now its your turn! Although I haven't specifically targeted the D/T rating, they seem to be well represented in my decreasing annual find count. The rating covers a diverse range of caches, from tree climbs, high peaks, long hikes, boulder dashes in creeks, 4x4 access, swimming, or a scramble under an urban bridge.

Following D2/T4 caches away from the daily comforts of the 50km radius takes you to new ecosystems and environments that you may not have seen or even knew existed! Some of my favourite qualifying caches are in a variety of environments include:

Full Steam Ahead GCJC1P: Cloud forest in SE QLD overlooking towering volcanic chimneys.
Dizzy thoughts or confusion GC180V9 : Highest peak in SA, overlooking the Flinders Ranges.
Ormiston Pound GC53TA9: Iconic desert gorge country with towering cliffs in the NT.
The top ACT - Bimberi Wilderness GC5895: High country views and Snowgums everywhere you look.
Mali Stol (2198) GC8BZPV: Mountain hut in the Slovenian alps during a 10 day walk on the alpine trail.
Red Pike RED PIKE GC19KJY: Hike in the Lake District in the UK overlooking glacial peaks and valleys.

The Rules

1. Participants must find 42 or more caches rated at EXACTLY Difficulty 2, Terrain 4
2. These can be found in any order, any cache type, no time limits or any other snags.
3. Find at least 4 D2/T4 caches in 4 seperate states/territories of Australia (ie NSW, QLD, ACT, VIC).
4. Find at least 2 D2/T4 caches in countries other than Australia. This can be two D2/T4 finds from the same country (ie two finds in NZ) or two from different countries (ie one find in England and one find in France)
5. Post the green tick with the three completed tasks as PASSED from the Challenge Checker with your 'found' log (see below image)

Remember you may go to GZ and find the physical container before you qualify for the challenge, however your online log will need to be submitted as a 'Note' until you have completed the challenge. The location is awesome, you may as well go there when the conditions are suitable and log your visit as 'Found' once you qualify. **Also feel free to share which of these you enjoyed the most. This is NOT required for finding the cache but encouraged.

Myron Creek Walk

The container itself is hidden at the listed coordinates. To get to GZ, you will need to follow the Great North Walk to where the trail crosses Myron Brook. Heading upstream, the creek provides some of the most spectacular creek scenery on the Central Coast:

Continue upstream and take the eastern (larger) branch of Myron Brook to these falls:

Head up to the right (east) of the falls to an obvious break in the cliffs. There are a couple of good places to check out the falls from the top:

Head up past the next set of cascades to the upper falls:

Head to the left of the falls up to a large redgum that overlooks the falls. The cache is in a small crevice at knee height.

The D/T at the top of the listing reflects the challenge. Getting to GZ and finding the cache is... well... a D2/T4 (makes sense right?)
Happy Caching!
