Geocache Description:

This should be a quick find at one of my family's favorite local parks, Muriel Hepner Nature Park. This Denville Township park is great for children. It has a fenced-in playground, picnic tables, a .3 mi paved walking path around a pond, and more extensive (easy) trails in the surrounding woods. There are many great native plants to see in this park and one of my son's favorites has become the American Hornbeam tree (Carpinus caroliniana). It is sometimes called Ironwood or Musclewood due to the trunk being smooth and sinewy, or rippled like muscles. There is a large one on one 'side' of the cache and a grove of smaller ones in the other direction. See if you can spot these cool trees while you're there!

Since this park is so great for kids, I wanted this cache to be an easy find for the younger crowd. It is not far from the parking lot and is in a medium sized container. We have filled it with some smaller kids' items along with a new travel bug and a new geocoin. If you're the FTF, please don't take both. Enjoy!
