This is the city of Sarajevo,

Home to over 555,210 people

And the capital of Bosnia & Herzegovina in the Balkans.

It's had a storied history, as it was where Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated on 28 June 1914, widely regarded as the catalyst of WWI

And where the Siege of Sarajevo occurred, the longest siege of any city, lasting from, 5 April 1992 to 29 February 1996, and resulting in 13,952 deaths.

Today, Sarajevo is in a reconstruction phase, repairing old buildings and making new buildings.

It is now a relatively peaceful city, with restaurants, shops, transport, parks etc.

Being the cultural centre of Bosnia & Herzegovina, the city is diverse, both in ethnicity and religion, earning it the nickname "the Jerusalem of the Balkans".

That should be the gist of it all, but of course, this beautiful city can't be simply described in a few sentences.

And this is Sarajevo Reserve, an odd, quiet park deep within suburban West Auckland.

It hosts a playground, two exercise machines, and half a basketball court, and I have not found one reference as to why it is called such. However, it is a nice park, with a unique name and layout. I hope you find this place interesting.
CACHE INFORMATION
Parking & Access: There is a small parking area on the end of Sarajevo Place, and you can park on street in Lucija Road.
Alternatively, you can get to the reserve from Waimumu Road through a walkway located between houses 94 and 96 (it is a bit steep, overgrown and bumpy, so it isn't bicycle or wheelchair friendly). There is also a bus stop near the walkway.
Cache: It is a 900ml camoed Sistema container, so it can hold a good amount of swag, and some trackable.
Please be gentle with the camo, and to get it out from its hiding place, take the lid off first before pulling it out. Cover well with leaf litter when rehiding it.
If there's any problem with the container, please tell it in your log, as I can respond to it quickly.
When this cache was first placed, it contained a logbook, pencil, SWAG, Silica gel (NOT SWAG, DO NOT TAKE) and a trackable (Code: TB9ER4E).
Dog Access: Dogs are allowed off-leash, except on the basketball court, where they have to be on a leash. They are not allowed on the playground.
Bicycle Access: Bicycles are allowed, but it is not recommended to go through the walkway described above, as it is bumpy, steep, and has barriers at the lower end.
