I put out the YEG series to celebrate some of the great things and places around Edmonton. I picked one place or thing for each letter of the alphabet. There might be some disagreement on what to use as sometimes there were more than one for each letter but I tried to pick something that I thought was very interesting or unique about Edmonton.

HAWRELAK PARK

Hawrelak Park is a 68-hectare park in the river valley and is one of the most popular parks in Edmonton. It's lake, with islands at either end, is its defining feature.  You can rent paddle boats in the summer and in the winter it becomes a giant skating rink.
